Over 6,000 people visit the Liebenzell USA Guest House or Retreat Center every year. About 90% of visiting groups come from ethnic churches in the greater New York metro area. Almost three-quarters of these groups are Hispanic. At some point in the year, a number of individuals from these groups will travel back to their home country. We saw this as a great opportunity to put practical tools in the hands of pastors and youth ministers.
Thus, Liebenzell USA Global Ministries began a program of distributing a Spanish-language study Bible and an “Energia” soccer ball. The colorful soccer ball uses the colors of the "wordless book," an evangelistic tool to share the gospel. Each color of the "Energia" soccer ball reveals a part of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
After serving at Liebenzell’s Guest House and Retreat Center for the past 18 months as a maintenance technician, Manuel Ferrer recently returned to his native Puerto Rico – and excitedly took along a study Bible and Engeria soccer ball for his church there.
Bible and soccer balls have already made their way to several Latin American countries this year and also a church in Haiti.
